The story
Built in Kuwait,
understood in context.
Founded as the Kuwait Flours Company to guarantee national food security, the company grew into an integrated milling, baking, and food-manufacturing operation. Its 1988 merger with the Kuwaiti Bakeries Company created the institution known today as Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company.
Established in 1961 as the Kuwait Flours Company, with production beginning in 1965. The company added a pastry plant (1969), a biscuits facility (1971), and the Arabian Gulf's first vegetable-oil factory (1976). In 1978 it built nine automatic bakeries across Kuwait, including the Central Sabhan Bakery. It merged with the Kuwaiti Bakeries Company in 1988 to form Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company (KFMB). In 1994 it acquired the Kuwait Supply Company for ration distribution, and it has operated an animal-feed factory since 1996. The company built iron silos with 50,000-ton storage capacity with international advisors, and in 2025 it expanded into the United States market.
